Method

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
In a separate large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
